Admissions: Library Link Staff (Current and Retired)

Trinity staff seeking to apply for and use a Library Link card to consult non-Trinity material should see our Visiting Other Libraries page.

A Library Link card enables access to the collections of participating libraries, but without borrowing rights, and subject to their rules and regulations. Readers from Library Link-member institutions will be admitted to use the Library's collections for study and research, provided they apply to join the Library in advance using the relevant link below and produce a valid Library Link card when they collect their Visiting Readers Card from the Admissions Counter in the Library (former Berkeley Library) foyer, during its opening hours. The Library Link card should be obtained from the reader's home institution library.

Library Link readers should be familiar with regulations at the Library of Trinity College Dublin.

  • Library Link readers can access a large collection of e-journals and databases using designated computers within the Library
  • A Library Link account does not give off-campus access to e-journals, databases etc. - off-campus access for visitors is not permitted under publisher/provider licensing agreements
  • A Library Link account does not grant borrowing rights for other libraries outside of your home library
  • No access is possible to our out-of-hours study spaces; the card will not give entry to the 1937 Postgraduate Reading Room or Kinsella Hall
